The Power of Yoga:
I believe one of the most amazing benefits of Yoga is that it allows you take a break away from the busy-ness of life–allowing you to completely relax your mind from all the thinking & stress…while strengthening & toning your body in ways not many other forms of fitness can.
Some of the benefits of a consistent yoga practice include: increased strength–while balancing all muscle groups, (no more super strong quads, but weak hamstrings) natural weight loss, greater flexibility, toned muscles, improved balance, reduced stress, and inner peace with a more relaxed mind. As a busy mom, who stays at home–while running a business, yoga has been the most incredible way for me to have time just for me while experiencing amazing differences in how my body feels & looks.
Tammy Schwartz, RYT & SCW Yoga
I am a Certified Yoga Instructor (RYT) with The Yoga Alliance. I completed a 200 hour teacher training program with Karen Soroko, E-RYT of Yoga Prairie in the summer of 2007. I was blessed with an opportunity to learn from Ranjani Cobo, who studied and apprenticed in India with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and B.K.S. Iyengar. I will soon have the E-RYT designation as an experienced yoga teacher with over 1,000 hours of teaching.
After teaching at Blue Hills Rehab & Fitness Studio, I opened my studio in the fall of 2007 at my home in Chetek. I taught regular classes through the fall of 2015, when our family re-located to Eau Claire. With so many committed students, I decided to teach in Bloomer during the transition at Midwest Physical Therapy & Fitness Center. I was blessed that so many of my students came with me and taught there a little less then a year. I plan to offer classes monthly in Bloomer soon on Saturday mornings. I was recently given an awesome opportunity to teach in Eau Claire, close to where we are building on the south side of town, with some of the best teachers in the area! I look forward to the next chapter!
I teach Hatha Yoga–that I would describe as a combination of Iyengar & Ashtanga–classes with an emphasis on proper alignment and holding strengthening poses to achieve incredible benefits, with some flow. Classes are multi-level–from beginners to advanced students–and all fitness levels. Poses can be modified to fit any level. If you have health concerns or major physical limitations, please connect with Tammy to determine if classes will be a fit.

“Tammy is a wonderful yoga instructor. She has taught Yoga at my clinic. She has assisted me in instructing some of my patients on how to maintain neutral spine positioning with certain yoga poses. She has a keen sense of spine and joint alignment, and this enables her to modify her clients program to adjust for their musculoskeletal weaknesses. I highly recommend her services.”

“I have been one of Tammy’s yoga students for nearly three years. There are students in my weekly class that far exceed my abilities, some that are newer to yoga and others in the middle range like me. Tammy easily works with each and every one of us to maximize the benefits of each pose without sacrificing the experience for others.”
“I have enjoyed practicing yoga with Tammy for several years now. It has been a rewarding journey discovering new ways of strengthening my body and mind through yoga, as well as the practice of yoga breathing in some of life’s stressful situations. I appreciate Tammy’s depth of knowledge and commitment to us, her students. Last but not least, yoga is such a great way to unplug and unwind and leave the outside world behind for a little while. Thanks Tammy!”
