Tammy SchwartzMy journey began as a middle and high school teacher–with my focus being nutrition. I taught for 6 years and gained an understanding of what motivates teenagers to eat better. Now, as a Nutritionist and Certified Health Coach, my passion is to teach people why & how to add more whole, plant foods to their families diet. As a busy mom, I focus on simple solutions to start moving in that direction and for making changes more sustainable in the long term.

Through The Wellness Forum Institute for Health Studies, I had the amazing opportunity to study with world renowned leaders who have been helping people prevent and reverse their health issues for many years by changing their diet–many of which appeared in the life-changing documentary, “Forks Over Knives” such as Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Dr. Caldwell Essylsten, Dr. John McDougall, Dr. Neal Barnard, and Dr. Pam Popper. Through this program, I became a Certified Diet and Lifestyle Intervention Practitioner.

Through Cornell University and The T. Colin Campbell Foundation, I received a Certificate in Plant Based Nutrition; and through Huntington College of Health Sciences a diploma in Comprehensive Nutrition.

I am also a Certified Yoga Instructor (E-RYT) and teach classes in Eau Claire. With our fast paced lives, I love helping people learn to relax their mind, while getting an awesome workout.

PERSONAL INFO:

 I am blessed with an amazing husband, Karl and an incredible daughter, Madalynn. We enjoy mountain biking, cross country skiing, hiking, and camping–on our date nights and as a family. Involving Maddy from the beginning has helped us be able to do more of all we love to do, whether she is doing it with us or watching us do bike or ski races.

As active people & parents, we understand the need for simple solutions when it comes to eating. It is a priority for us to eat healthy most of the time, so we have had to come up with meals that can be thrown together quickly–that are healthy and taste good. We also are on the go a lot, like most families today, causing us to need healthy grab & go options as well. We eat mostly plant based, but I have an understanding of how long it can take to get here–as it was a process of many years for us. Slow changes tend to be more lasting–so I teach people to move in this direction at a pace that works for them.
